The subject of the above post is Thomas Jennings b 1847 Pyrford Surrey.

Seeking 1st marriage of the above. On the Deniliquin NSW 1888 marriage certificate of my GGrandmother Margaret Rowe Ham the groom is named John Jennings a Widower son of Thomas Jennings & Ann Chees(e)more, occupation Cook.
For the registration of his son in 1893 his name is John Thomas Jennings however on death cert 1921 he is Thomas.
His arrival into Sydney AUS appears to be as 3rd cook on the John Elder in 1879.
Baptised Pyrford 8 April 1847. With his family in Pyrford in 1851 census; note mother Ann had died in Nov 1850. Family are separated by 1861 census as Thomas Snr is boarding with strangers in Send, he died in 1869.
I have been unable to identify Thomas Jnr in later census.
Thomas had a brother John b 1841 who died in a workhouse in 1887.
My assumption is that Thomas left a family & did not want to be found - so went to the colonies - as one did!!
