What is an Internment Certificate?

Thank you so much Kay for the information, it has been very helpful. I have since been advised that the certificate only relate to Baby Glew, so her name may well have not been registered as you have said.

Its an offcial form submitted by the funeral director to the cemetery that an interment of ashes are to take place and not scattered,or that a burial is to take,,,families usually dont deal with this as its taken care of as part of the service of the funeral directors.

Also if a new born,may not have qualified as a lived person to be registered under the normal registration process as to appear in the UK GRO.If the case then it was entered into a seperate register,The Register of Still Births which isnt made public but requests can be made which carry stipulated proof for access, ie a parent,sibling.

Janet may have been the intended name and still honoured.

I have been trying to find Janet Glew born and died 5th May 1958 but cannot find any birth or death information - I have been advised there was an Internment Certificate but I don't know what this is. Any help would be appreciated
