Hi all! on behalf of my cousin Sue I would like to say thank you so much for all your hard work. This information is 100% spot on. My cousin had been told that her Grandfather worked on the railways and that had been killed in a freak accident when a station sign fell on his head.

My uncle Bob (Robert) had wanted to name my cousin Grace after his sister however, his wife did not the name as she thought it was old fashioned!

Sue is totally excited about this find which will now enable her to continue her research on the paternal side.

Hi MarieCeleste, thank you for reply last night. I am not sure if my cousin has bought her parents marriage certificate. All I know is she has Robert, Henry's Father as John on her tree (born in Wales). If she doesn't already have the certificate then that would be a good starting point.

Perhaps he was known as John?? Through my own family research I have come across so many people using or being known by a different Christian name!

The Baptism you have posted would definitely fit as Robert, Henry Williams was born on 20/02/1913. :-D

Lindalucy - how sure was your cousin of Robert Henry's father's name? Has she bought Robert Henry's marriage certificate to make sure of who he states as his father?

That is also interesting!! As far as I'm aware my cousin does not know if Robert had any siblings. I do know that Robert married my Aunty in 1955 in Devon and that he had previously been married before however, no idea when or where the marriage took place.

I don't know if he was born in Scotland for certain. My cousin seems to think that he was born there however, another of our cousins did say he thinks Robert was Welsh which means what you have found is very interesting!! ;-)

Possible sibling for the above birth. No sign of a marriage that I can see.

I can't see anything to match in England or Wales. If they married in Scotland then you need Scotlands people. Its not at subscription site, you need to buy credits to view the records.

Hi all,

Am trying to help my cousin find out more about her Grandparents John Williams (born Wales no DOB) and Elizabeth Macready ((No DOB or place either!).

Their son Robert, Henry Williams was born on 20th February 1913 in Scotland so it is possible that his mother was also from North of the border.

Can anyone help locate their marriage and or the birth of any other children that John and Elizabeth had?

It is possible that her surname may have been spelt Mcreadie, Mcready or even a different variation. Am sorry this is all I have to go on!

Please can anyone help if not can you point me the right direction of where to look? Many thanks in advance.
