ELIZABETH MARY TUCKER, Married Holman. AUSTRALIA

Interesting update by PM from Judith today. It turns out that the birth I posted on 22 Dec 2015 @ 23:33 was correct after all!:

From: Judith Holman

I want to both thank you and apologise for not going into the record you sent me and not getting back to right away. Even though I have known very long.

I have sent away again for my grandmothers marriage certificate and this time I received more information. I asked for a copy of the original cert and not a typed one. Now I know who my great grand parents as well as my grandmothers full name. I also understand now why she was like she was.

I feel like I have missed out on so much now. So here is a little of her story.

Elizabeth Mary Eliza was born to an unmarried mother and a father who had already been married three times. When he married my grandmother Elizabeth was three years old. There were two more children after that until Elizabeth found about the terrible secret Louis was keeping.

Louis Herbert Egbert Edgar Tucker was one of the worst bigamists in the whole of Australia, he was also a small time their and con man.

This man was my great grand father. You had a good part in me finding all about him and most of all my grandmother and her mother, all my new uncles and great uncles/aunties.

Thank you very much.

Kind Regards Judy.

I have just gone through some more of my records and another name she went by was Elizabeth May Tucker, her mother was Elizabeth Mary and father William. I still have no luck with that search though.

As far as I know she was the only child. That is what makes this search harder.

Do you have any idea of the names of your grandmother's siblings?

If the birth posted earlier is correct, then these would certainly be siblings:-

1889 C4393 Margaret Ann Tucker William Henry Elizabeth Jane Thomas

1895 C5049 John Tucker William Henry Elizabeth Jane Thomas

.............would these be correct?

Thank you for your help. As for the marriage cert. It only shows a William as Elizabeth's father. No mother listed.

EDIT: NO, this isn't her, in light of Judith's later post below, saying Elizabeth's father was William.

EDIT again (08/07/2016):
Turns out this is correct after all!

As Jude says, adding Australia to the title would help attract the member helpers who know about Australian records.

Do you have either of her marriage certificates?

Does that not name her father?

For starters add "Australia" to your title :-)

My grandmother Elizabeth Mary Tucker born in about 1896, I think in Victoria or Queensland. Elizabeth married Frederick William Holman in Brunswick. She was widowed in 1934. Later married a Galwey in South Australia. Buried under the name of Galwey in Fawkner Cemetery, Melbourne.

I have been trying to find Elizabeth's parents and have constantly come up against a brick wall. WHO ARE THEY?

Elizabeth is my grandmother.

Can anyone help me please.
