It is of course quite possible that James Fuller and Jane Payne did not marry ..................


common law marriages were just as common then as they are now, especially if one of the parties had been married previously! Divorce was almost impossible for ordinary folk to get until about the 1930s.

Researching:
My brother, photo taken in September 1991 just a couple of weeks before he died. ............................................................ To help us and to get better results, please post as much detail as you can, especially name, date(s) and place. Also say what you already know.

Yes Chris , I did find that . but Eliza's mother is Jane Payne on the GRO certificate. I don't have any other birth certificates for the other children . and as I said I can't find a marriage for Janes Payne & James

Well, it sems that the marriage above for James Fuller to Jane Beck will be the correct one (not Jane Bradbury who many people have on their trees)...

I followed the grandson William Winton from 1851 census as grandson of James and Jane.

In 1861 he is with his parents James Winton + Ann.


This looks to be the parents' marriage :

I have found a marriage for James & Jane -----Beck--- & Bradbury but no Payne . On Eliza's birth certificate the mothers name is Payne ,

Hi I hope some kind person will be able to find a marriage for Jane Payne & James Fuller . I can't
Jane Payne was born in Hemel Hempstead about 1796 and died in Wandsworth in1873 . James came from Hatfield Hertfordshire
There first child Rebecca was born in 1833, then came Joseph 1835 & Eliza who was born in St Albans in 1838 . but as I say I can't find any marriage
