You're on the cusp of early Protestant parish records. Assuming Thomas was baptised, the records could have been lost or are so damaged that they are indecipherable. Not all surviving ones have been transcribed onto the Internet.

If you don't have his date of death, why do you think he was born in 1630? A burial record would tell you when and where he was buried, but not the date he died. It may not even mention his age.

A number of trees on Ancestry have the marriage Malyon found. The yob is probably a guesstimate based on that. He could have been as young as 12 when he married, or an 'old man'!

One person copies from another, and so it goes on.

Sorry to appear rather negative, but folk do tend to expect everything to have survived and be available at the click of a button. We can count ourselves lucky that we can achieve so much now from the comfort of our own homes rather than have to travel miles to archives.

Thanks for all your comments.

Maybe the reason I can't find it is that it has not been put on to the internet!

"Maybe the reason I can't find it is that it has not been put on to the internet!"........ or even a record of a baptism, if it ever existed, no longer survives?

Just because someone was married and lived in one location, it doesn't mean they were born there. Don't limit your searches only to Lincolnshire, but consider other surrounding counties. My Lincs lot were constantly popping across the border to Nottinghamshire.
