Having got my tree back to 1563 when the surname is Gover I am told during the 16th century the name Govier was change to Gover . This is when the Gover change there name because of French Protestant Donomination in the 16th century when the Govier family flee France and arrived in Swanage in Dorset.they also fled to Somerset , My side is from Swanage If any one knows when the Govier family arrive It will be so helpful Regards: Steve Gover
