Many thanks everyone for the information. The surname Irving rings a bell, don't know why I never noticed the spelling error myself. The John Clark 1853 on the 1911 census is my 3x great grandfather.

That 1891 census is not correct Malyon. That Joseph is still with his mother and siblings in 1901- the Joseph who married E Clarke was married before 1901.

Joseph's father is listed as Wilson Irving on his marriage.

This may be his father's marriage- although I'm struggling to find him.

Ancestry has the surname as Swing, but by cross referencing with FMP the surname there is transcribed as IRVING which means the probable marriage is easier to find!

Help needed to find marriage record for Joseph Swing and Elizabeth Clark from Liverpool. All I can find is an 1911 Liverpool census, which states they had been married for 11 years so must have married in 1899-1900. They were probably married in a . Catholic church as the Clarks were all Roman Catholics. They were both born in Liverpool.
