Thank You Greyghost.
I had a feeling that the heading and the content were not connected but I just needed clarification.

Afraid the America heading refers to the price of Gold, Bonds, Cotton, Flour etc!!!!

Then starts a new section for BMD's. The one you're interested in says -

McCloskey and McGrath - April 21st in the Roman Catholic Church, Long Tower, Derry, by the Rev. J. McDonough C.C. Mr M. McCloskey and Miss M.A. McGrath, only daughter of the late Mr Andrew McGrath, of Londonderry

I don't know Malyon.
That's why I'm interested in the way that the announcement is headed.

My ggg grandfather left a legacy for this family in his will.
I think that the bride's father and my ancestor may have been brothers.

Thank you Malyon,
I already know about all of the McCloskey children.

I was hoping that someone would have access to The Derry Journal via FMP and tell me if there is an explation as to why the marriage announcement is headed "America"

If anyone has access, could they look at this marrige announcement please?

Derry Journal, Londonderry 27 Apr 1870
Marriage betwen Matthew McCloskey and Mary Ann McGrath, daughter of the late Andrew McGrath

I do have a copy of this marriage but the search index on FMP shows that it's headed "America"
Could someone confirm this please and is there any other info?
