	does that mean you don't have the Hall+Costello marriage certificate? yes, that seems rather necessary ... it would say whether she had been previously married herself, and give her father's name if she stated it

	David yes, we all found the marriage record in 1872 ............. but the fact remains that Elizabeth Costello does not appear before that. One of the tree owners ddi seem to suggest that her name might really be Elizabeth Clarke. I think you have to buy that marriage certificate from GRO in order to find out what she says about her father. She MIGHT have been a widow It will cost you £9.25, post and packing included. There is no other way that you can see the details as i t does not seem that those registers have been digitised.

	Interestingly, the family tree owners seem to doubt that Elizabeth's surname was truly Costello ........ no-one has found her before her marriage to Michael hall.

	strange but in census 1881 michael and elizabeth are there but in 1871 census says he is a widower then in 1891 he is with elizabeth again

	I'm lost ... Maybe Rose would delete that 1881 census that seems to be the wrong one? Claire is the date on that census 1871? so just before the widower Michael Hall married Elizabeth Costello? maybe David can offer up a bit more info ... one would think you know her children's names David as you have some reason for interest in this couple?
