Someone has added Janet Brown as an alernative name for Jane Slessor on Ancestry's 1861 Ontario census lookup.

The image does say Jane, but Janet Brown was her maiden name.

*** Does the "corrector" add any other info, like their own name, or anything?

All it says is 'Added a Maiden Name.' which is pre-populated on the Ancestry submission form.

it was added on 2010-10-03

the user hasn't logged in, in over a year

their tree is

The Ferguson/ McClung and Related Families with 25853 names :-)

if you would like a message passed on, PM me an email address and I'll give it a try!

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 5 Nov 2015 21:23

the tree shows no ancestors for her or her husband

and shows descendants of multiple children of her sons John and William, one of whom presumably goes down to the tree owner, but danged if I'm going to try to figure out how!

... actually it's just as likely some obscure in-law branch of the tree ... it's just way too huge for me to find any connection

the user's name is a pseudonym: Gumboots

a load of images were uploaded to the tree in Sept 2014 and that's the last visible activity

Thanks for your interest.
I do have a pretty complete picture of the family in Canada..
I was really interested in knowing who else was looking at this family.

I think that's the question I was trying to answer ...

it was malyon who gave the usual extraneous copy&pastes :-)

JC - sorry for the delay. It was due to a family medical emergency - my grandson broke his leg falling off a sofa - plus an 8hr time zone difference.

I've been thinking abt your kind offer to contact the Ancestry tree-owner - I'll pm you some time later abt that. Thanks for the offer.

anytime you like, just say - if you PM, give me the link here so I know what we're talking about!
