Ann,
I just thought the 1874 death was worth considering as it seems to fit with your 1841 census.
The couple in that census are still alive in 1861, living with their daughter Susannah.

Name Susanna Aires
Gender Female
Christening Date 13 Jan 1822
Christening Place Syresham, Northampton, England
Father's Name Thomas Aires

I've currently hit a brick wall on my journey through the Ayres line of my family. Thomas Ayres (1785-1841, Daventry, Northamptonshire) is the supposed father of my ancestor William Ayres (1809-1885, Radstone, Northamptonshire) based on help given to me through a shared family tree with many matching ancestors.

Unfortunately, beyond this I can find barely any trace of him. Searching GR, I've found a death record for him and nothing more. The relative I talked to said he found him through Ancestry as he has a subscription with them too. I did look on there myself, based on what I know about Thomas such as his wife Sarah Ann Somerton (1787, Syresham, Northamptonshire) and her ancestors (various Thomas Somertons leading back to 1712) and discovered him listed there, with even less information, as Thomas Aires. Now I had assumed myself at some point that the name had naturally corrupted into Ayres so this isn't necessarily a red flag to me, but I'd really love to have more information on this man and I would especially appreciate being able to find any further Ayres ancestry.

Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.
