Playing around with ages on his death record, he was 78 when he died, so born 1904/5. scotlandspeople only has one birth for that name, in 1904. If you buy credits on the site, you will be able to view and download his birth entry.

What info are you looking for, Alan?

His parents would be named on his death cert, together with his wife (if he married).

You can buy the cert from this site:

If you are a direct descendant, once you have his death cert you will be able to request his military record. This site tells you how:

I'm looking for any information on this gentleman who passed away in 1983 at Erskine hospital. I believe he was a chartered accountant and was likely commissioned as an officer in the Cameronians in 1930.
