The 'South Aus State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service - they will check their records including electoral rolls (past & present) and newspaper death notices (if given approx. dates). (All (Aus) States offer same service.)

Thanks for everyone's help. Mary Dempsey was married to Charles Steele in 1938 England, not sure when she went to Australia. Thanks for details of headstone for Eva Alma Dempsey. Kind Regards Pam

Dudley Park, South Australia.

Her headstone can be seen on Billion Graves site, it mentions a John Edmund Dempsey (Husband).

Pamela, was Mary Dempsey a spinster? Or did she have a married name?

Thank you for all the information it has been most helpful I also know that John Dempsey had a sister that died in Adelaide. Mary Dempsey born 5th March 1915 in Cheshire and died 2 July 2001 Adelaide

I found 2 children Christine born 1948 Glossop Derbyshire and John born 1950 Glossop but not found 3rd child as yet John Dempsey's Mother Eva Alma (nee Davies ) died in 1967 in Adelaide so did she go with them? Please can anyone help with finding any details on Lilian Dempsey who died on 15 February 2011 in Lutheran Nursing Home Albury New South Wales Australia Lilian s Husband John Dempsey also died in same nursing home on 20th July 2008 . Lilian was born in 1919 (maiden name Jackson) in Glossop Derbyshire.England. John Dempsey was born in 1917 Ashton Under Lyne Lancashire England They were married in 1945 in Hyde Cheshire England. They had 3 children. I am interested in finding out when they went to live in Australia They were on the electoral register in 1980 at 381 North Street Albury in the district of Farrer. New South Wales. The occupation of John is given as Photographer also any obituaries or burial details of the couple would be great. They had been married 63 years when John Dempsey died in 2008.
