Do you have access to the 1911 census as it has Nathan's signature on it which you could compare with the one on your letter?

It is possible that Williams's father had a child with another woman as, although he was listed with Elizabeth on 1911, they were in fact divorced in 1908 (grounds - cruelty).

He may well have moved on before this son was born?

Just out of interest I Googled Rimrose House, thinking it might be an old people's home, which might have had old records.

Turns out it's a 3-bed end terrace. It's been sold at least twice since 1983:

Whilst renovating a loft area I have found an old passport relating to a William Hayden Beedon b.October 1902 in cumberland, lancashire. He married Jessie Maud Morgan. With the old passport was a very poignant letter which I would like to pass on to his descendants.
