The simple answer to your question is no. If its a church it might be in Parish records, but if its a register office then the cert is the only way to find out.

Hi Is there any way of finding out where a marriage took place in the Knaresbrough area in 1918 between Harry Pease son of Walter?? and Margaret Murray and all details without buying a cert .
