Just came across this which looks to be another child of Andrew and Ann:-

Name: Maria Mcaloon
Gender: Female
Baptism Date: 25 Feb 1864
Baptism Place: Our Blessed Lady and St. Joseph, Broom, Durham, England
Father: Andraei Mcaloon
Mother: Annae Madden Mcaloon
FHL Film Number: 2082485
Reference ID: v 6 p 38

In which case Ann's maiden name would be Madden.

..................so this would also be relevant:-

Name: Andraei Mcaloon
Gender: Male
Spouse: Annae Madden Mcaloon
Child: Bernardus Mcaloon

Interesting to see the name change in 1871 for Andrew:-

Name: Andrew McLachlan
Age: 47
Estimated birth year: abt 1824
Relation: Head
Spouse's Name: Ann McLachlan
Gender: Male
Where born: Ireland
Civil Parish: Thornley
Ecclesiastical parish: Thornley
Town: Thornley Colliery
County/Island: Durham
Country: England
Registration district: Easington
Sub-registration district: Easington
ED, institution, or vessel: 9
Household schedule number: 195
Piece: 4976
Folio: 21
Page Number: 39
Household Members:
Name Age
Andrew McLachlan 47
Ann McLachlan 37 born: Queens County, Ireland
Cornelius McLachlan 20
Patrick McLachlan 16
Barney McLachlan 11
Margaret McLachlan 6
Thomas McLachlan 4
Edward McLachlan 1

..........still no clue for birth place of Andrew, but does give Ann's birth place as Queens County.

1881 an d1891 don't give any clues either. What a shame.

Unfortunately 1861 doesn't give any more idea to where Andrew was born:-

Name: Andw Mc Leon

This looks to be the marriage of Bernard:-

Marriages Jun 1858 (>99%)
Clinton John Durham 10a 386
Laughran Catharine Durham 10a 386
Laughran Catherine Durham 10a 386
xxxx Lynch Jane Durham 10a 386
xxxx McAloon Bernard Durham 10a 386
McAlorn Bernard Durham 10a 386

...........this would also be relevant if above is correct:-

Name: Edwardus Mcaloon
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 3 Apr 1859
Baptism Place: Our Blessed Lady and St. Joseph, Broom, Durham, England
Father: Bernardi Mcaloon
Mother: Joannae Lynch Mcaloon
FHL Film Number: 2082485
Reference ID: v 5 p 99

.............so you could also invest in a copy of his marriage cert. to see if they all have the same father. Just a thought.

............would therefore also be relevant to Bernard:-
Name: Maria Mcaloon
Gender: Female
Baptism Date: 17 Nov 1864
Baptism Place: Our Blessed Lady and St. Joseph, Broom, Durham, England
Father: Bernardi Mcaloon
Mother: Joannae Lynch Mcaloon
FHL Film Number: 2082485
Reference ID: v 6 p 55

I'd suggest buying Thomas' marriage certificate to see what it gives as his father's name. Seems quite possible that Andrew and Ann married in Ireland

All sounds correct with my info' Its the relationship between Thomas,Andrew,Patrick and Bernard(Barnard) in the 1851 Census I'm really looking for.
Cheers,Terry L.

Going by the above marriage it looks like Thomas married Mary Daly as this may be the baptism of their son Patrick:

England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
Name: Thomae Mcaloon
Gender: Male
Spouse: Mariae Daly Mcaloon
Child: Patricius Mcaloon

Mary appears to be widowed with 4 children on the 1871 census.

Hi,Everybody.Looking for help, again.Found Thomas in 1851 Census, living at Leadgate,Lanchester, with Andrew McAloon and family.I guess they could be brothers but would like to have proof,if possible?I was told by a distant relative that their parents could have been Cornelius ,and Margaret McAloon, but again not proven. Also Thomas possibly born in Galway. Any help would be grateful.
All the best,Terry L.
