A tree on Ancestry gives details of three children's births and deaths - no info re cause of death:

Hugh McBroom (birth)
1896–1896
9 May 1896 • Annbank, Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland

Hugh McBroom (death)
1896–1896
8 Nov 1896 • Annbank, Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland

Margaret McBroom (birth)
1898–1902
22 May 1898 • Annbank Tarbolton Ayrshire Scotland

Margaret McBroom (death)
1898–1902
22 Apr 1902 • Annbank, Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland

Elizabeth McLelland McBroom (birth)
1900–1921
6 May 1900 • Annbank, Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland

Elizabeth McLelland McBroom (death)
1900–1921
7 Apr 1921 • 36 Glebe Road, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland

James himself is James McLelland McBroom in that tree, not Hamilton.
McLellan(d) was apparently his mother's maiden surname.

1868 MCBROOM JAMES M STEVENSTON /AYR 615/00 0022

The 1911 census (to be seen by spending credits on SP, as Gins suggests), is the only way you'll find out any more children's names.

There were 22 McBrooms born in Tarbolton alone, 1895-1930, and without a lot of expense, to look at the certs, it's impossible to know which of them might have belonged to your family.
Images of certs of those before 1920 can be viewed on SP, with credits, but for later ones you'd have to buy a copy of the cert.

Welcome to the boards, Bloss.

Possible death of Elizabeth ??

1921 MCBROOM ELIZABETH MCL..... F 20 KILMARNOCK (AYR) /AYR 597/00 0150

Credits on SP will let you see the actual cert for parents' names.

Other possibilities are (in Tarbolton alone):

1904 MCBROOM ANNABELLA MCLEA......
Other surname: WALLACE
F 0 TARBOLTON /AYR 619/00 0045

1896 MCBROOM HUGH M 0 TARBOLTON /AYR 619/00 0043

1902 MCBROOM MARGARET F 4 TARBOLTON /AYR 619/00 0032
(Could be the Margaret in 1901 census?)

1898 MCBROOM MARION YOUNG F 0 TARBOLTON /AYR 619/00 0029

1899 MCBROOM PETER ALLAN M 2 TARBOLTON /AYR 619/00 0031

Bloss Report 18 Oct 2015 05:58

James Hamilton McBroom (b.1868 in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, Scotland) - married Janet Hart 18/7/1895 in Ayrshire....
Information I have is of 3 children born to them and a possible 3 others.
Janet died in 1939 Kilmarnock, Ayrshire Scotland.
James Hamilton McBroom then married (after 1939) Sarah Kathleen Lawson.
James dies in 1951 in Prestonpans, East Lothian, Scotland as did Sarah
The information on the 3 children + the possible 3 other children is they all died along with their mother (Janet) of tuberculosis or dyptheria.
Would appreciate if anyone could shed more light on this family....Thankyou Bloss
