Searching for He* Phil* , female, in Fife (not specifically Kirkcaldy) on 1911 census on ScotlandsPeople, no likely name comes up.

Not very likely, but just vaguely possible, is this one, if "He . . . . ." turns out to be "Henrietta" - but she would be a lot older than you think (is her age on her son's birth cert?). Credits on SP would let you look at the full details on the image of the original census document:

1911 PHILP ROBINA GRACE HE. . . . . . .
F 45 KIRKCALDY AND ABBOTSHALL /FIFE 442/00 018/00 026

These are the only births in Scotland 1885-95 of Henriettas with surname anything like Philips:

1891 PHILIP HENRIETTA HELEN F NEW MACHAR ABERDEEN CITY/ABERDEEN 227/0A 0025

1895 PHILLIPS HENRIETTA MIRK F ST ANDREW (DUNDEE) DUNDEE CITY/ANGUS 282/04 0826

On your previous thread asking about William Stewart her son, you say she was a Spiers and she went on to marry a Philips. It's far better Pauline to stick to one thread and give consistent information so we are not repeating information already found or looking for the wrong person/people. Unless you have 2 families with similar stories and names. It helps us to help you. Advice was given about Scotland's People

The 1911 census is only on Scotlands People against its pay to view I,m afraid

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 31 Oct 2015 12:11

Yes, it will say where she was born - but as Shirley has said, you'll need to buy credits on Scotlands People to view the image.

And yes, Denbeath, Wemyss is the correct spelling. The Wemyss area on the south coast of Fife included several villages, one of which was/is Denbeath.

ADDED:
Absolutely nothing to do with Pauline's family, but on Googling the address, the following came up - just interesting!
"A coalminers daughter named Janet Wishart gave birth to a baby girl on the 11th November 1903 which she christened Mary Bruce Anderson Wishart. She lived at 176 Denbeath Wemyss."

The marriage cert should also give her parents' names and her age. That info should help to find her on the earlier censuses to find her POB.
