Hi Guy's,
Still trying to make some sense on the father and family of William Payne Pim. It could be right linking him to William & Elenor Paine as their son William born c 1771 and baptised in 1777 would make him and Jane about the same age.
Thanks for your help
Dianna.

that Jane apparently died, as she seems to have been succeeded by

Jane Pim
christening: 1 April 1772
Wedmore, Somerset, England
father: John Pim

I wondered about Jane's history after William's birth as it might give a clue to her age, for example.

e.g.

Jane Pim
marriage: 13 March 1793
Mark, Somerset, England
spouse: Walter Fisher

is a possibility, for 'our' Jane, or for the Wedmore Jane if not the same one

William went by the surname Payne? ('William Pim Payne' in your subject line)

he was baptised with surname Pim from his mother

from the marriage record it seems he used Payne as a middle name

this is the common indication of the surname of the father of a child of unmarried parents

so his father would appear to be William Payne

if the parents were very young, a possibility is

Name William Paine
Gender Male
Christening Date 08 Dec 1777
Christening Place Meare, Somerset, England
Father's Name William Paine
Mother's Name Elnor

do you know Jane's history after 1793?

William Pim Payne born c1792 in Meade Somerset the son of Jane Pim.
I'm unable to trace the name of his father or any record of a marriage. It might mean that William was base born and the mother failed to declare the full name of the father only listing the surname It is also possible that the Church records may be incomplete.
The date of Williams Christening was 20/1/1793
I have details of Williams marriage to Sarah Parsons and that of their children.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks Dianna.
