Just to note the area given on the 1881 census is WILLINGSWORTH, which I gather is around the Tipton/ Dudley, Staffordshire area.

Moira is saying that what looked like a "T" could actually be a "J"

there are no william a j births 1865

the initial could well be A "J" not a "T" so I have been looking for the wrong person all along, thank you so much everyone, I will send for the Marriage cert, It sounds the most promising

If William who married Sarah is the correct one, then this could be the marriage as there are Smith in-laws with them on the 1891 census.
The marriage certificate would give his name, age and occupation and also name his Father and his occupation

Hello Greyghost, it could be I have his birth as 1865 Wellingworth Staffordshire

It is William T G Neale that I cannot find any trace of, I wonder if he just did not register for the census if he was in a barge at the times of the census
