Lena or Selina could have the surname of Foster, Spowage or West, I have a photograph of my mother Clarice Edith with the person she called Lena, Lena was older than her, my mother was born in 1920 and was the daughter of Alice and John William Spowage. The family come from the old Meadows area of Nottingham. Alice Spowage (nee Foster) was adopted by Selina and Arthur West.

If Alice Foster was adopted by the Wests, why was she not WEST when she married ?
