Hi all I am looking for BMD birth reg for one Geoffrey Hawkins DOB 8 Jan 1926 in Altrincham Cheshire. I can't seem to find his birth registered?

Also, a big apology if this post has already appeared but I am having issues this afternoon with Gr, I keep getting closed off the site for some reason? Don't know why yet though. Thanks, Euni x

sorry Malyon, that isn't the same Geoffrey I'm afraid . Mine married in Mauritius in 1947 (civil) when he was in the armed forces, then a further church wedding in Altrincham later on after his return. I know about his mother's family, but was illegitimate so there were never any details of his father. There is nothing on the birth cert (I could not trace him on freebmd and wondered if he had a different name initially?) His mother's family were financially very secure so they never had to apply for parish relief etc, so there is no trace of his father anywhere I am afraid; we now accept we are unlikely ever to find him. Thank you all the same for looking though.
