Hello

Does anyone have a John George Allen in their family tree who was known to have been living in the west London area in the late 1940s. He was possibly working as a chef or cook at the time. He may have been known as George Allen. He probably would have been born sometime between 1910-1925

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I don't where he was born but I do know that he was working as a chef in the Richmond, Surrey area in the late 1940s. The problem is that it's a fairly common name but I'm hoping that someone may be able identify him from his occupation as a chef.

Thanks for this. However I know that John George Allen was still living in 1950, and I'm pretty sure that his name is correct - at least officially although he may have been known as either John or George. There is no initial H in his name as far as I am aware. He is believed to have worked at the Richmond Hill Hotel in about 1948 as a chef, but they have no staff records going back that far. He must have lived locally I suppose but no clues as to where.
