Yes that is the birth for William :)
I have William right through to his death in Wales in 1923,
I just wondered if there was any way I could find his sisters :(

In 1891 William would have been 13 years old with Alice and Elizabeth being between 14/16 so chances are then the girls would have already left any orphanage and be working as servants?
So basically no chance of finding them as no idea who they married or where they ended up living :(
The only other info i have is that Elizabeth married a chap called Harry as on the photo i have it say aunt Lizzie & uncle Harry and i know it was after 1909 as this is when William married and Elizabeth was a witness so I will have to try that road :/

In 1911 William was in the Greenwich and Deptford Childrens Homes (Workhouse). There is also an Ethel Tucker aged 11, related?

so William was in some sort of institution at the age of 4 - can't find the other two though

I would think they would stay in the Orphanage until they could be sent out to work, about 13 yo. Normally as servants.

A lot of children where sent to Canada and Australia to be servants farmhands and the like. Virtually slave labour.

you could check with the localrecords office for any files they may have from the orphanage. If you are lucky they may have details from when she was admitted -and where from, circumstances etc? fully you could then cross refernece whether she is yours?

Hi I just wondered if anyone could help or maybe have any ideas on how to find where the children in this family went after 1881,

Sadly their father died in 1877 before Wiliam (my great grandfather) was born i have this confirmed on his birth cert. I cant find him again until he married my great grandmother in Pewsey in 1909 the couple then move to Wales.
Their mother died in 1887 so as you can see below she is with them on 1881 census at their home address in London ......... However the girls also appear on 1881 census as visitors in Pewsey with their mothers side of the family unsure why they are marked as visitors and not grandaughters I just guessed because they did not live there and were visiting?
Anyway I have had no luck searching the girls as the names are so common have been searching on and of for a few years but surely there must be a way :(
Would the 3 children have stayed together?,would they have gone to family or maybe to a workhouse?
Its just sooo frustrating :(
I know Alice and Elizabeth stayed in touch with the family as i have photos of them left to family members but no one still alive knows anything about them.
