Thanks for your input guys :-) I think possibly William may have first been married in Bulwick on the 23rd November 1790 to Elizabeth Limmen. I first thought that this William Blades, seeing that he was 73 when he died in 1839 would have been Henry Williams grand-dad, not dad. I think that it may be time for me to get a copy of his Birth Certificate. I want to see how far back in history I can go with the 'Blades' family and the various spelling of the name. I know that originally they were from Denmark and settled in a village called 'Blades' (long gone) in Yorkshire. Later they were in Hull and were ship builders who built the 'Bounty' and there is a 'Blaydes House' there
