You need to be a bit more specific in what you are hoping to find .

Guess you have started somewhere with your family tree ??

Welcome to the boards, Witty.

Please tell us what you know already, so that we don't spend time finding info which you already have.

"Harrison Joseph, gamekeeper in Leicestershire, father of Charles William Harrison, my great grandfather."

Was Harrison his first name or his surname? Ditto Joseph?

When was Charles William Harrison born, and where?

PM from Witty. Have asked them to reply on the thread.

............
Joseph. Harrison was a gamekeeper and seemed to move around the country, married to Hannah in Malton, yorkshire, then moved to Appleby Magna in Leicestershire, also married to Margaret
...........

And this happened when? Have you found him on any census? Marriage certificates after 1837 state the name of the father, if known.

Civil registration in England/Wales began in 1837. Have you found either marriage references on it?

Sigh - Witty, this is that last time I'll add your PM to a thread. Just use the Add your reply box at the end, type and Submit.

Its much better to add what you know or suspect on to your thread. That way everyone can chip in.
...............
Charles William Harrison born 1853. Died 1934, Joseph Harrison born 1818 .? Died 1884?
.................

So we have the 'when'. Any idea of the 'where' particularly for Charles William Harrison?

If we can find him in census with Joseph, then we might have a better chance of researching further back.

PM from Witty:

"looking for Harrison brothers, Charles William and Ernest Henry, they lived in Broseley Shropshire, then moved to Wollaton Nottinghamshire . They were both hand painters of pottery mid 1800s. Thanks. "

I have advised Witty (as DetEcTive has done already) to reply on the thread and not to individuals.

Witty -
the 1871 census for these people is posted above.

Witty -
when you say you're "looking for" the Harrison brothers, what do you know already?

You really need to tell us everything you know, and what you still want to know. The helpers won't want to spend time searching for info, only to find you have it already.

Have you found them in censuses other than 1871?

Probably Edward's birth - Basford district included Wollaton:

Harrison Edward Basford 7b 102

And Charles:
