Hi I am trying to confirm the actual birth of my 6 x Great Grandfather George Paling, born circa 1755 in Weston, Lincolnshire.

There is a rumour that my Paling family originated from Holland, and I have often wondered if he came from there, but I have not been able to confirm this.

Any help would be appreciated.

A tree on Ancestry says that his father is John Palin born 1714, Lowdham, Nottinghamshire.

found this about the paling family by this looks like they came from nottinghamshire only george was born in lincolnshire other children born in nottinghamshire

I should be careful of those submitted familysearch trees.
That particular one shows John Palin and his wife Mary having three children in 1750 and their last child 22 years later when Mary was 58 years old :-S

Thanks for all your replies. I have seen a tree relating to a John Palin in Nottingham previously but am not really sure if he is the father of George Paling.
