Haha maybe , I don't think he stayed there long he was on a boat to Baffin Island in 1915 !!

now that would give you man flu :-D

It looks admission and discharge to me- his relief was for the infirmary so perhaps like a doctors appointment or outpatients?:

Time of admission 10:5
Time of discharge 10:30

both June 16th.

Maybe he had a touch of man flu? :-D

Thanks for your replies, I was expecting to see the discharge as well, as that is the title of the images "admission and discharge" but that is the only record I can see , wonder if I keep going through the pages I might come across the page that says he leaves?

He was living at Carrington House when he asked for relief at the workhouse. Looks like he was sick- he was seeking relief from the infirmary.

I can't say for sure but just reading what you have copied above I would say that he was actually admitted into the workhouse.

As well as on Ancestry the records will also be at the London Metropolitan Archives. They should also have discharge records.

Is anyone good with these records?

From Ancestry today

Name: Colin Campbell
Birth Date: abt 1863
Admission Age: 47
Admission Date: 16 Jun 1910
Record Type: Admission
Borough: Greenwich
Parish or Poor Law Union: Greenwich
Place: London, England
Title: Workhouse (Institution) Woolwich Road, 1909-1910
There are two consecutive pages on Ancestry (free this weekend), does this just mean he asked for poor relief, was given help and left immediately ? I can see from internet that Carrington House was a sort of hostel but I dont really know how to read the record properly

many thanks to anyone who knows a bit more than me
