Just got this from my dad so seems we have the right person

I don't know if it is any help, but my dad's full name Was Edward Reginald Jones and he served at HMS Jackdaw in Scotland In the 2nd world war. Also his date of birth was 8th June 1916 and he died 1st July 1996.

In reply to your email yes he did have a brother Frank but I don't know about John, his also had a brother Bernard & a sister Florence, I believe there were about 9 siblings altogether

You have your grandfather's name as Edward Reginald Jones, but the marriage to Patricia E. Arnold is to Edward G. Jones. ???
