Ellen Amelia Williams is unfortunately quite a common name!

I found at least 7 possibles last night.

ELLEN AMELIA WILLIAMS WAS THE NAME OF HER FATHER; MOTHER AN ACTRESS AND YES WILLIAMS MAY HAVE NOT BEEN HER FOSTER MOTHERS NAME........ADOPTION WAS NOT OFFICAL TILL 1926 AND YES SHE WAS ILLEGITAMATE AND HER SISTER DID STICK BY HER....I HAVE THE MARRIED OF ELLEN AMELIA 1900 EDMONTON SHE MARRIED WILLIAM GEORGE PRIOR............................................................................

If she took the name of her father, and was raised by her mother's sister ................ doesn't that imply that she was

a) illegitimate, and

b) that possibly her aunt's name was not Williams?


we need MORE information from Marilyn, or we're looking for that black cat in the coal cellar (as my mother used to say) :-)
