Welcome to the boards.

You quote the date he was married. Does this mean you have the certificate? What details does it give for his father?

Are the witnesses from his wife's side, or could they from be his?

Looking for records of my husbands grandfather John Sherman born 5/12/1885. (From army papers). It was said that he was born in Ireland but on his enlistment papers he said he was born in Spitalfields, London! He died 19/10/1948. He was married to Lawrie Beatrice Pyrke on 20/10/1919. They had 4 girls and 4 boys. He was in the merchant service (a stoker) up until 1914 when he enlisted. He put his next of kin as a sister Kate Redden on his papers as living in Lower Edmonton. None of his children are still alive and nobody in the family knows anything about him except what I have found from records.I don't know where else to look now and am tearing my hair out. Any suggestions or help will be really appreciated. Thanks. Lesley Sherman.
