trying to find my long lost relatives

I have a grandfather born in Scotland, on his naval records it states ardrosson, but can find no mention of him there, his name was Robert George lang, and his father had the same name and was in the merchant navy he is a complete mystery, I have been trying for years to find some record of him, but no luck! I know he had two sons Cyril William, and albert,and I believe three sisters.hope someone out there knows of him !

This is the only Robert George Lang (or variant) I can see born in all Scotland 1884-7:

Nowhere near Ayrshire.

His son was Cyril William Cosgrove Lang- born 1913 Dundee

Oh oh, he was the son of Robert George Lang, petty officer RN, and Alice Ann Robinson (who was the wife of Andrew Edward Sheridan)

Doesn't help with the search for Robert, but here's Alice in 1911. Her husband was a gunner in the RN, I think, so he would be away a lot:

hi, thankyou to everyone for their replies, yes, I had discovered this much on grandfather lang, but although it states on his naval records as born april 1885 in ardrosson Ayrshire, I cannot find any trace of him, I have even been up there!.one story in the family is that he ran away to sea, another is that he was in an orphanage,but I have tried to find him in workhouses dr barnardos etc still a mystery!
