There's a Fritz Lorenson on the service files for First World War, Canadian Expeditionary Force. Unfortunately there's no other info other than his service number, 257396.

This is probably the right person, I know he was cutting ties for the railroad in Duluth Minnesota, and had a farm in Alberta Canada.
Can you check if he was born in Lysekil Sweden to Joel and Alma Lorenson.

I think the modern spelling of Berfendal is Bärfendal. There is a parish by that name in Göteborg och Bohus

His father was Noel and mother Alma Lorenson somewhere in Sweden. Fritz U. Lorenson had a niece Karen Johanson who lived in Malmo, or Lungskile, or Ljungskile Sweden. I'm guessing Fritz was born around 1888 in January. Fritz Lorenson immgrated to Canada around 1908, worked at cutting ties for the railroad in Minnesota USA. From there he purchased a homestead in Three Creeks, Alberta Canada around 1930.
