Find Ancestors

Hi all, I have a Beatrice Ada Wing born 1926 (She has recently passed away). On her birth certificate her mother is listed as Grace Wing of 23 Alfred Street, Southampton. Believe her full name was actually Madeline Grace Wing but she was know as Gracie. No father is listed on birth certificate. Beatrice had an older brother Cyril Wing born 1925 also out of wedlock. Gracie did go onto marry a Benjamin Riddett .
Then on Beatrice's marriage certificate 1948 (again no father listed) one of the witnesses was a Robert Cyril Wing and I believe this is her maternal grandfather (Gracie's father). I am trying to therefore find Grace on any census reports with her father Robert Cyril Wing and then trace his line back. Understand Robert's wife may have been a Susanna Kitcher.

Ah good thinking Mike - the witness has signed Robert Cyril Wing so I was thinking that this tied in with the Robert on the 1911 census. However just wondering if it was Beatrice's older brother Cyril Robert Wing and he just changed his name around. Perhaps Robert wouldn't have even been alive by the time his granddaughter got married.
So maybe Robert was just Robert Wing born abt 1859 who married Susanna and they lived at 23 Alfred Street?

Hi all, back in August 2015 some of you kindly helped me out with this thread and I now wonder if anyone is free to help me take it back further please. In particular I'm looking at:
Robert Wing 1827-1899 who married Harriett Donkin 1829-1905. Married in 1848 Southampton.
On this thread they are listed on the 1861, 1871 and 1881 census reports with their children (Harriett, Emma, Sarah, Alice and Robert)

Is anyone free to try and find them on the other census records; 1851 and 1891 census living together. 1901 census just Harriett - she may be listed with a Fred Wing (possibly son or grandson). I'm trying to see if I can find anymore children for them other than those listed above and whether I can track either of their own parents down.

Thought it was best to continue on this thread rather than start over.
