There's one in the Navy. DOB could be right (birth reg 1st qr 1886).

No, it's not hm.

NOK is his wife - Meadowcroft (Mrs Ethel - I think) of 8 (or a figure ending in 8) Ath-something Street, St Anns (possibly) - can't see properly without paying the fee.

on FMP he is only on census , there are no records of him being in the Army

What evidence do you have that he served during WW1 ?

I am looking for any info on Army records for James Meadowcroft born 1885/6 Rochdale his wife was Lois Crossley think he served from about 1915
