I am seeking information on John Kennedy who married Emily Stuart/Stewart in 1860.
His father was named Ferguson and hers was named William.

On the marriage certificate it stated that he was an army pensioner of the the East India Company.
Their son David married Sarah Blair in 1895

Re that tree info which I posted above, when I click on the link to the supposed death record, it only shows the birth record of his daughter Amelia Jane in Ballycastle, 1874.

Can't see from the image which website they found it on.

According to his marriage certificate his age was given as 31. This would indicate that he was born c1832

Thanks for all your replies. I am trying to gather information on both John and Emily's ancestors but so far have not got confirmation of John's birth or actual death (assumed Ireland as him and his family returned from Greenock to Ireland in 1870's.
Emily died in 1897 in Port Glasgow and her daughter Emily jane was present.

As I have been unable to confirm Emily Jane's details I can only assume that those recorded for an Amelia Jane may possibly be hers and whoever recorded them picked up or spelled the names the way they thought they sounded.

Does Emily's death cert say she was a widow?

Yes, it says she's the widow of John Kennedy, soldier, and her age is listed as 51. Daughter, Emely Jain present.

The tree on Ancestry suggests John's death in 1883 Ireland- possibly this one?
