	oh ... I was assuming Deborah is descended from that marriage or that it is in some way a known fact :-) ... and that the info about Elizabeth comes from a census ... (edit, but it turns out the marriage in the OP was fictitious, those two people did not marry) these deaths match the 1891 census Deaths Sep 1948 Britten Elizabeth L 84 Ampthill 4a 3 >>> note 'Elizabeth L' again Deaths Jun 1931 Britten Charles 71 Ampthill 3b 367 >>> this matches the info given about Charles in the OP, i.e. dob 1860 actually THIS is the marriage of that couple i.e. the 1891 census I posted Marriages Dec 1886 BRITTEN Charles Woburn 3b 811 TANSLEY Elizabeth Lankester Woburn 3b 811 so that is the couple in the 1891 census and the Elizabeth in that couple is Elizabeth Tansley NOT Elizabeth Allen

	I am editing this post on 6 August to make clear for Deborah what has been concluded, as I posted on the second page of the thread =========================================== 'ELIZABETH MARY ALLEN BORN 1865 at Bedfordshire . She got married to CHARLES BRITTEN born 1860 at Salford, Bedfordshire.' This is simply false, it seems to have been based on some kind of assumption made from the marriage record without doing any verifying, even checking censuses. In the marriage list with those two names, they did not even marry each other! that Elizabeth Mary Allen married Joseph Walter Davenport in 1885 a different Elizabeth married a different Charles Britten ... Elizabeth Lankester Tansley in 1886 >>> Deborah needs to come back to her thread and tell us who she wants to know about Charles Britten and/or Elizabeth Lankester Tansley who married in 1886 or Elizabeth Mary Odell/Allen who married Joseph Walter Davenport in 1885 or Charles Britten who married Louisa Walker in 1885 =========================================== this is what I posted in the first place on 5 August ... http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl Marriages Dec 1885 Allen Elizabeth Mary A Bedford 3b 721 Britten Charles Bedford 3b 721 (edit, it turns out that this Charles did not marry this Elizabeth, she married Joseph Davenport) there is no Elizabeth Mary Allen birth in Bedfordshire 1863-1867 your best course is to get her marriage certificate to confirm her age and the name she gave for her father (and I am deleting the info about an Elizabeth Allen born in Bedford in 1865 because she is not relevant) In the 1891 census in Salford, Elizabeth wife of Charles appears to be Elizabeth L Britten Emily S Britten 72 Charles Britten 31 Elizabeth L Britten 26 - appears to be correct per image, and says born Salford John C Britten 3 Mary A L Britten 2
