The marriage posted by Gins helps to identify any available records for Samuel Pidgeon. It names his father, also Samuel Pidgeon

(copied from Gins post)
Name:Selinam Crumley
Marriage Date:8 Jan 1876
Parish:St Augustine (Augustini), Lancashire, England
Spouse's Name:Samuelem Pigeon
Father's name:Bernardi Crumley
>>>>>Spouse Father's Name:Samuelis Pigeon <<<<<<

Unlike the UK, there was no legal requirement or facility to register a birth with the authorities. That's why mgnv has suggested looking on Familysearch for a baptism. Even if Samuel Pidgeon Jnr was baptised, the record may not have survived or be accessible via the internet.

Although we'd like to help or point you in the right direction, sometimes we have to concede that we've come up against a brick wall. It happens to us all!

This is the 1871 for the family Andrew posted in 1861. Surname definitely reads Curmany.
