I would be very grateful, if anyone could find this person for me on the 1891 and 1901 Census.
Sidney Charles Bevins birth was registered in September 1880, although he had a brother Oliver born in April 1881 !
On the 1881 Census he is with his parents at Little Pennington Street, Rugby, Warwickshire.
Tom Blundell Bevins b. 1855 Clifton on Dunsmore, Warwickshire Occ: An Iron Moulder
Elizabeth Bevins b. 1857 Newton, Warwickshire.
Sidney Charles b. 1881 Rugby.

On the 1891 Census, the family are at a different address but still in Rugby.
Their 3 other children are with them
Oliver C Bevins b. 1881 Warwick
Herbert E Bevins b. 1884 Warwick
Ernest R Bevins b. 1886 Warwick
But no sign of Sidney. He doesn't appear again, until he marries Roseanna Royal in 1904 in Harlesden, North London.

Regards
Mary

He could have been serving in the Boer War in 1901.................many ex-service personnel became/become Police Officers

Mary

Mary Report 23 Jun 2015 14:02

Thank you Jaqueline, that is a strong possibility as his brother Oliver was in the Boer War and missing from the 1911 Census..

Thought he may have been in the forces especially for 1901 but can't see anything yet, although there are some records with no surname so maybe one of those???
