1851/1861 census Dexter

Richard Dexter (Father of Lottie) was born in Bennington c1855, on marriage his Father was Thomas Dexter (Labourer) born c 1835 and he married Lydia Smith in Dec qtr 1850. If anyone could find me the census for them I would be grateful.

Hi, sorry it didn't say where, just had a look in road atlas and there is one in Lincs and one in Herts!! Both spelled Benington.

I have the 1871 census for Lydia 36 born Sutton in Asfield, Richard 15 Bennington,James 11 Retford, William 6 Laxton and Mary A 3 Elston Derby. Says above that Bennington is in Notts, can't find it on map!!

1871 census states that Lydia is widowed, but she may have lied of course.

Not having much luck with 1851/61 census yet. :-S
