Kucinta Report 10 May 2015 12:35

Have pmed an article from the Worchester Chronicle relating to the case that Chris found above, in case Gaynor does not have it.

Same paper reports a Daniel Cope assaulted a Hannah Holden in 1847 , who had 'affiliated a child' on him a few weeks before, no occupation given for Daniel.

Also the Worcester Journal had an article referring to the 1843 case, involving a puddler named Daniel Cope.

Kath - you were the one who found the full version - I had only found the freebmd version at that point, so didn't post as you'de beat me to it with a better version :-)

Just wish that it had occupations for the fathers, even if they were both deceased!

Well done Kucinta - I always forget to look at the image if there is one. It will save Gaynor having to buy the certificate.

Have just checked the marriage record on FMP. but unfortunately it just says Richard Cope and Joseph Williams were deceased, so no hints as to what their occupations were.

Witnesses were James Brown and Hannah Maria Brooks.

Daniel's occupation is given as puddler - which tallies with the census

Will pm the image

If the birth that safc posted above is correct then the marriage to Hannah Williams seems likely as the father's name is given as Richard Cope.

Gaynor Report 9 May 2015 17:12

Hi There,
I have a Daniel Cope in my tree born 1820 - Stourbridge, Worcestershire, His wife was Hannah born 1in 1828 St Geo's Hanover Sq, London, England ( so may have been in service?) according to census records. The lived in Stourbridge for thee rest of their lives as far as I can tell and Daniel died in 1863 in Stourbridge. I am trying to find Daniel and Hannah s wedding cert so I can ascertain her maiden name. I also can ot find a death record.

Also, In 1821 Daniel was 20 living with a Fanny Cope age 70 ( also in Stourbridge) and I would like to find her death record.

Any help trying to find a little more about Hannah and Fanny would be welcome :- Thank you! :-)
