Many thanks everybody for all your help and information .This is my John Edward Mellor. Any other info re any military service or if he and Ida ever separated or divorced would be greatly appreciated. My dad never ever mentioned John Edward but he talked of his mother Ida.Dad was brought up with his grandparents,Ida's parents. He had two younger siblings Frank and Kenneth perhaps this was the reason.
My dad - Joseph Calland Mellor born 1908.
