Yes, Robert married Charlotte Gill on 9 May 1826 in Loders, Dorset - he was 22 when he married. Their children were: John Gill White (my ancestor) born about the same time give or take; George Gill White, Mary, Harriet, Ann, Jane, Henry, Whilemina, Ann, Mark, Sarah, Thomas and Francis born between 1828 and 1842.

Although Robert White, their father, was baptised in Askerswell, I cannot find a record of his birth and more importantly, where this was.

Also, sorry, I mis-typed Robert White's date of death which was 1879 not 1870.

Now that the thread is complete, thank you all for this useful information which I'm sure will help me to get a bit further back. I hasten to add that I ALWAYS thank everyone, but wait until the thread is completed, which surely makes sense as then I don't miss anybody out who's tried to help.
