No, it can't be her husband.............she was a SPINSTER

Her maiden name was WILLIAMS

I believe that Fanny's maiden name was Williams and that she had children before marriage, John 1878 and Louisa 1880 as noted on the 1881 census.. There was also Joseph 1889 and Mary J. 1890 on the 1891 census where she states that she is a widow but at marriage in 1896 she says spinster and father's name is Williams.

Root gather just a question on the information that you found:

It says john Williams was fanny's dad. Could this be wrong and actually be her husband who had died?

I would like to find fanny's maiden name if possible?

Wow thank you for the information.

1901 and 1891 census information very relevant and definitely the right family!

How do I find out more information about the workhouse?

John is with his mother Fanny here who is unmarried. There is also a daughter Louisa who is 1. I won't list all of the names, it seems to be a workhouse. First name on the list is Ellen Hayford, she's not his mother.

Kt2015 Report 21 Apr 2015 19:05

I am searching my family tree. I am looking for more information and can't find it.

I have found from the census records that fanny and Joseph hague were married and lived together.

Fanny was married before a son the census records has John Williams living with her who is her son I think from previous marriage.

I believe Joseph was also married before as he has a son Arthur born in Barnsley on the census born 1881.

I am looking for Joseph Hagues first marriage. Census says he was born around 1848 in Barnsley. I know he had one child with her - Arthur but May have had more.

Also looking for Fannys marriage and to see If she had any other children? How will I find this information?

There is some confusion over spelling too as in census it is hague which I have always spelt it that way, however on my grandad brith certificate ( fanny and Joseph's son) it is spelt Haigh.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks :)
