OK, so baptism Catherine put up for Richard is correct (so not sure where the Newman name came from?):

Sussex Advertiser - Tuesday 07 March 1848
YOUNG- DENMAN March 2nd at Lindfield by the Rev. F H Sewell, Mr Richard Smith Young, eldest son of Mr Thomas Young of Brighton to Sarah Denman, eldest daughter of the late Mr Martin Denman of Grove Cottage, Lindfield.

Graham- can you just confirm the information you've given us:

Thomas George Young, born 1827 Brighton. His parents were Thomas Footner Young and Mary Smith, and he had a brother born 1823, called Richard Newman Young, who married Sarah Denman??

Think I may have been looking at wrong family :-S

Hm that makes the 1896 death in NSW with the correct parents names look promising!

Might be worth taking a punt and getting a transcription?

NSW has excellent transcription services. A full transcript from Joy Murrin is A$20.

Thomas came up no problem, but there is no sign of William Muzzall, he's a real mystery? Maybe he died before leaving?

See http://members.iinet.net.au/~perthdps/convicts/con-wa7.html

He was a 26 year old clerk, single, 5 foot 4 and 3/4, brown hair and hazel eyes, oval face, fresh complexion and stout build. No scars or tattoos.

Perhaps he didn't stay in WA? No marriage or death that is a good match for him.
