Please can you help?

My relative was Augusta Lavinia Hague b. 21/5/1891 in Hull m. 30/7/1927 to Willie Kenworthy White (though, strangely, no-one in my family seems to know about this, so whether he wasn't on the scene for very long, I don't know..she had three illegitimate children, all born before this marriage and all given the surname of Hague) and she died on 28/8/1958 (as Augusta Lavinia White) in Hull.

I'm trying to find where she is buried but can't seem to find anything. Relatives seem to think she is in Hedon Road Cemetery in Hull in with the other family members but she isn't on the headstones and there doesn't seem to be any record. Where people kept on record if they were cremated?

I will be so, so grateful if anyone can help me as I've been trying to solve this problem for a few years now.

Thank you in advance.

Andrew

"Cremation
Until 1885 cremation was illegal in this country. Hull Crematorium on Hedon Road was opened 1901. A further crematorium was opened at the Northern Cemetery on Chanterlands Avenue in 1961. Records for both are held by the Crematorium on Chanterlands Avenue."

Just because her name isn't on the headstone doesn't mean she isn't buried there.

You could contact the cemetery office/local council and ask if she is buried there. They may make a small charge for looking at their records (some cemeteries do and others don't).

Contact the parks and cemeteries dept of the local council they should be able to tell you where she is buried or was cremated . Give them the details from the death certificate

Councils keep very good records of their municipal cemeteries and even if someone is in a public grave they will have the row and plot nos

Thank you to everyone, I'm waiting to hear from the cemetery. I have tried before a few years ago and they couldn't find any information for me but I'm keeping my fingers crossed this time!
