He was born in Rochepaule, Ardeche, France in 1862 and his parents were Jean Antoine Chabert and Marie Grand. He married iMarie Chapelon in St Etienne in 1890 . Did the couple have any children?

Hi
Did they live all their lives in France ?
If yes you will need to put France in your heading, as you will need someone with
worldwide subs to trace them for you

Nothing shows for this couple on Ancestry, nor on FamilySearch.

You need someone with access to specifically French genealogy sites to help you.

Hi David, do you have any idea of where the couple settled?

French bmd are free to look for and to view but as there is no central data base, to look for possible children you need to know exactly where they were born. You then have to go through all the births in that commune to see if you can spot anything. This is quite easy if they lived in a small commune but much longer if they lived in a big town or city.

Do you have a copy of Jean Joseph's birth record?
If you don't and would like a copy then the link below will take you to it so you can make a copy:-

http://www.archinoe.net/cg07v2/visualiseur/visu_registre.php?id=70075581&PHPSID=1b60ede709e2e80f4d52d5896c9ae5f3&w=1920&h=1080#

.............just go to entry N° 48 (page 25)

Oh dear, are you sure it doesn't work, when I click on it, it takes me straight through?

I'm not a big expert on computers but the only thing I can think of is that it works for me because I'm in France?
Not sure if that could be an explaination. :-S

It doesn't work for me by just clicking it- but if I copy and paste in a separate window it works fine. :-)

Still getting error message when I click on it, and if I copy/paste, it says "Your search did not match ay documents"

Must be just my computer! Not to worry!
