You need to know which state, since they have separate records.

They were contracted to travel to Melbourne

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 16 Apr 2015 00:50

They went under the £10 Assisted Passage Scheme.

The National Archives site does not tell you where they went in Australia .............. it is probably Victoria, but possibly not ......... and of course it does not tell you whether they stayed there after the 2 year contract was up.

There are several results for S Oddy and C Oddy on http://www.whitepages.com.au
You could try writing to them to see if they are related

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 16 Apr 2015 00:58

According to the Passenger list on ancestry ...... they actually travelled First Class ...........

that was not usual for the £10 Assisted Passage as the government site said they had travelled

Gee

Gee Report 16 Apr 2015 02:51

Looking at the image for their passage to OZ, they didn't travel first class. It states 'tst/trst'

The lady listed above Albert (Lily Black) is travelling first class - '1st'

David ................

you must have had a previous thread on this family??? Did you delete it?

I found this thread with one post by JaneyCanuck (a blast from the past :-) )............

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/living_relatives/thread/1269142?d=desc

JaneyCanuck Report 22 May 2011 02:49

I have sent David details of passage to Australia showing names of wife and children, and of children's births. I also sent him links to the few possible white pages listings in Australia.

I found that a relation of David's has posted on the internet looking for a relation of Albert's.

I am posting this to inform any other regular members who may consider undertaking research to assist in that search.
