Sandra
Just a tip......
You have to order the certificate in exactly the name as quoted in the index.
Generally there are no middle names quoted at that time, just perhaps an initial, but the full name will show on the certificate if it was recorded at the ceremony of marriage.

Hi Sandra ,Did you first register with the site,?

Dont use other websites as you will pay over double the GRO cost.

Did you tick the box on the order form that asks if the GRO ref is known

You only then have quote one name of the couple as listed on the GRO record and put the GRO. Ref in the boxes where asked .

There's no reason why you can't get a copy of the cert and it will still be .£9.25 including postage

It doesn't matter where you live. The GRO will provide copy certs if you give the correct info when ordering

Q. What are the IRCs that are mentioned on the certificate application forms ?
A. IRCs are International Reply Coupons. These should be available from post offices all over the world, and when you send them overseas they can be exchanged for stamps in the country concerned. But if your post office has never heard of them, it is suggested that you just add £1 to the cost of your certificate to cover return postage.

Have been trying to get a marriage certificate for my grandparents Arthur walter Hodson and Edna Rimmer I tried to order it though http:www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ But for someone reason wont let me order one. is there another website I can use. The only other way to order is through the Wirral Council via Post but it asked for two IRC's and I have no idea what this is. I think because I live in Australia this maybe the reason why am have difficulty obtaining one.
Thanks Sandra.
